AWLO’s youth ecosystem spans two complementary programmes — one working at the earliest possible age to shape leadership identity, and one providing structured development for the next generation of African women executives.
The AWLO Youth Council is a structured leadership development programme for women aged 18–35 — combining mentorship, experiential learning, chapter leadership, and cross-continental exposure to build the next generation of African women executives and changemakers.
Youth Council members operate within AWLO’s chapter structure, take on committee leadership roles, attend flagship events at subsidised rates, and build the professional networks that define careers.
iLEAD (I Lead) is a school-based complementary curriculum designed to prevent the gendered outcomes that lead to girls’ poor participation in the workforce and economy — intervening before institutional barriers take hold.
The iLEAD Club cultivates leadership identity from the earliest possible age — giving girls the language, confidence, and self-concept of a leader before the world tells them otherwise. Operating inside schools through AWLO’s chapter network, iLEAD is AWLO’s longest-horizon investment in gender equity.
