What does AWLO actually do?
AWLO — African Women in Leadership Organisation — is a not-for-profit alliance committed to enhancing the leadership potential of women in Africa for the benefit of the region. We run conferences, awards, youth programmes, advocacy campaigns, and global chapter networks across 4 continents.

Who can become a member?
AWLO membership is open to all women of African descent or those committed to advancing women’s leadership on the continent and in the diaspora. We also welcome male HeforShe allies. Visit our Membership page to join.

When are the next conferences?
AWLO holds two flagship annual events: the AWLO Global Summit in the USA and the AWLO Africa Conference on the continent. Our next major event is the 17th Anniversary Induction & Partners Appreciation Dinner — 11–13 December 2026, Amedeo Event Center, Enugu, Nigeria.

What is the AWLO Youth Council?
The AWLO Youth Council is a structured finishing school for next-generation African women leaders aged 18–35. It engages young women through leadership training, community service, mentoring, and the iLEAD Club programme for school-based youth.

What are the PAALA Awards?
The Pan-African Achievers and Leaders Awards (PAALA) recognise outstanding leadership achievement across sectors and borders. The 2026 Gala was held in Washington DC. Nominations open annually — visit dmv.awlo.africa to nominate.
