ENUGU STATE CHAPTER INAUGURATION AND LEADERSHIP MEET & GREET

SPEECH BY THE FOUNDER AND GLOBAL PRESIDENT OF AWLO – DR. ELISHA ATTAI

Distinguished Guests, Esteemed Members of AWLO, Our Newly Inaugurated Leaders, and Members of AWLO,

It is with great joy and a deep sense of purpose that I stand before you today as we inaugurate the Enugu State Chapter of the African Women in Leadership Organisation (AWLO). This marks yet another milestone in our mission to build a strong network of women who are empowered to lead and drive meaningful change across Africa and beyond.

AWLO was founded on the belief that when women are given the right opportunities, they can transform not only their own lives but also their communities and nations. Our objective is to advocate for gender inclusivity in leadership and governance. We aim to create platforms that promote the personal and professional growth of women, and champion initiatives that address critical issues affecting women.

As we establish this chapter, I am particularly excited about how it will connect with our broader initiatives, one of which is the AWAKE Africa Project—a movement that speaks to the heart of our mission. AWAKE Africa is about igniting the power within African women to rise, lead, and drive development in every sphere of society. It is about shifting the narrative and ensuring that women are at the forefront of Africa’s transformation.

Through this chapter, Enugu State will not just be a part of AWLO’s global vision; it will be a beacon of the AWAKE Africa movement. The impact of this chapter will be profound, as it will serve as a hub for leadership development, mentorship, and collaboration among women from diverse backgrounds. Through training programs, advocacy initiatives, and community projects, the AWLO Enugu Chapter will empower women and amplify their voices in decision-making spaces.

I commend the leadership team of this chapter for their commitment to our vision. To every woman here today, I encourage you to embrace this opportunity and support one another. Together, we are building a legacy of strong, visionary women who will redefine leadership in Africa.

Congratulations once again to the AWLO Enugu Chapter! May this be the beginning of a transformative journey for the women of Enugu and beyond.

Thank you, and God bless you all!
